Design: Temple Red

An all red affair.

My father had bought these paper from Chatuchak Market in Bangkok last year, but he never used it. Well I can’t help but let the paper fulfil its destiny!

The paper contains of leaves, fibres and assorted plant parts. So it has an earthy texture, dyed in a shade of red that reminds me of red temple walls.

To give the book a special “presence”, I had prepared red paper for the inside pages, and a silvery paper for the inside cover. The brown linen thread is from Belfast, Ireland.

Note the leaves and fibres embedded – looks very earthy.

Brown is the right colour for the thread.

The book is A6 size, 96 pages, hardcover, linen thread, Coptic-binding, handmade.

All red – very auspicious.

Silver for inside cover.
